MXGP World Motocross Championship Sweden July 4 2015

Uddevalla, Sweden, round 11 of the FIM World Motocross Championships MXGP and MX2. Max Nagl, Clement Desalle and Ryan Villopoto are not racing because of crashes and subsequent injuries. MX GP World Motocross Champion Tony Cairoli is racing, with broken bones in his hand and arm.

Saturday Qualifying Races

MXGP: Kevin Strijbos from Belgium on the Rockstar Suzuki wins Saturday’s Qualifying Race. Second goes to French sensation Romain Febvre. Tony Cairoli finishes 12th. The Grand Prix is tomorrow.

MX2: Jeffrey Herlings must have some amazing doctors. He crashed two weeks ago in Germany, broke his collarbone, had surgery, but is back racing and has won today’s MX2 Qualifying race.

Sunday Grand Prix

MXGP: Romain Febvre is on top of the motocross world right now. He’s won four Grands Prix in a row, and leads the MX GP point standings. He won both races today in Sweden. The French Yamaha rider is on fire.

Tony Cairoli is still in the hunt for World Motocross Championship number 9. The defending MX GP Champion, although losing points to Febvre in the title chase, keeps on churning, keeps on racing, despite a rash of injuries. He is currently racing with broken bones in his hand and arm. Today he finished 7th overall with moto scores of 13/3.
