2017 Motocross of Nations

Paul Iverson

It's officially the 2017 Monster Energy Motocross of Nations, held at Matterley Basin in England.

France (Paulin, Charlier, Febvre) are the defending champions. USA (Covington, Osborne, Seely) are looking for their first win since 2011.

Saturday's Qualification has France scoring 4 points. Netherlands (Herlings, Bogers, Coldenhoff) next with 4 points as well. Australia (Ferris, Lawrence, Gibbs) a nice surprise in 3rd with 6 points. USA took fourth with 8 points.

Sunday, race day: After 3 races, Team France wins! The French team of Gautier Paulin, Christophe Charlier and Romain Febvre has won the coveted Chamberlain Trophy again. That’s four years in a row! (In Latvia 2014, France 2015, Italy in 2016 and today.)

The track was muddy. The crowd - massive and amazing.

If there was an ‘individual’ winner on the day, it would be home countryman Max Anstie, winning both Moto 1 and Moto 3 of the 3 race Nations format.
